This model from Razor is much older than its other two models, the Razor MX350 and Razor MX650. While the former is much smaller and slower than the MX500 being meant for younger children, the MX650 is designed for young adults above the age of 15 years. Even the MX500 has a minimum age restriction of 14 years but according to some users, this is only to keep Razor away from breaking any laws.
On an average, reading through the many reviews posted on Amazon and other websites, the Razor MX500 seems to be one of the many electric dirt bikes for kids that has got a rave reception the moment it was released. In fact, till date, users love the usability and the fun associated with the Razor MX500. The one thing that users laud about the Electric Dirt Bike – Razor MX500 is that it is faster than the smaller MX350 and has retained the dual suspensions. It seems that the newer versions of the MX350 have done away with the dual suspensions. Hence, for those who wish to get a Razor with suspensions choose the Electric Dirt Bike – Razor MX500 which is only marginally costlier and faster than the MX350. It is still safe for kids around the age of 7 years as many reviewers have suggested.

Disregarding its variable clutch issue, which is common with electric-powered dirt bikes since most of the strain is placed on the clutch mechanism, the electric dirt bike offers more than it is worth. At just 100lbs, it is quite capable of carrying around full-grown adults of 170lbs. This itself speaks of the durability and strength of the machine. In fact, it is still fun to get on the Electric Dirt Bike – Razor MX500 myself and take a stroll in my front yard once in a while.
